Vacuum
State SilverWire
Interconnects
These cables, built by Allen Wright, are based on the theories of Professor Malcolm Hawksford developed in 1985 at Essex University (one of the few in the world where HiFi is studied at academic level) and which are still valid after 20 years. According to Allen, these theories are used by many other manufacturers without their admitting it publicly, even though this Swiss-Australian developer does.
He builds two kinds of
cables for use in different chains: his first one is called Vacuum State SilverFoil and has been
produced for over 10 years. It has a high capacitance associated with a very low
inductance; these characteristics may not be a good marriage with some
components. That's why Allen began to produce another cable called Vacuum State SilverWire, the object of
the current test, which is characterized by low capacitance and medium
inductance, with, according to him, an even higher resolution combined however
with a not so full bass compared to the Silver Foil.
Interconnect Cable using
laquer-insulated silver wire and Silver Bullet Plug
connectors
• Optically, one wouldn't
give two cents for them if it wasn’t for the Silver Bullet Plugs, which suggest a far
from cheap level.
• But these cables provide
exeptional qualities, comparable to the best, and also to the most expensive
cables in this test.
• The sound is natural and
at the same time detailed and clear. The balance of frequencies is optimal, with
mids and voices very tender, rich with naturally round harmonics, with very
present but never tiring crystal-clear treble, with a deep and very controlled -
maybe a tiny tad too much - bass.
• Very involving and
fascinating timbre.
• Soundstage is very deep
and wide, with very detailed resolution and rich micro information of
ambience.
• Combined with a
tube-preamp, the sound even improves again, giving a more present bass, a superb
yield of voices and an very big energy in complex and
difficult passages.

This cable, created by the authentic HiEnd-guru Allen Wright - an Australian residing in the German part of Switzerland - has shown extraordinary results in naturalness and balance: an overall presentation of great class in which it is difficult to find flaws. This cable has been a revelation for us in this test, its qualities are clearly above cables of the same price class and comparable to cables costing twice or four times the price. A cable of minimalistic but yet accurate build quality, subtle and flexible, with optimal usability.
Going
to the medium-high class you will first of all note a significant jump in
quality in absolut terms with all cables tested. Here, we have discovered a
truely outsider able to compete against top notch cables. It is the Vacuum State, which turns out to be the
real revelation of this test.
....
(Purist Audio, Cable Pro and DH Lab) ... None of the above could beat the
performance of the Vacuum
State.

After our auditions in our reference chains the best in absolute terms are Vacuum State, Dual Connect, Pear and Legenburg. Winner in terms of
Quality/Price relation are the Vacuum
State - Allen Wright has made a true
achievement!
