In early 1981 Allen & Joe embarked on the first RTP - this page reveals in photos the very first RTP that was built by Allen and completed by Joe & Rowan McCombe. Allen had left for the States and we had to complete it and send it onto him. The story is in The Tube Preamp CookBook.

It was later acquired by Chris Pritchard in Sydney who has since looked after it. It was brought to Joe in 1998 for a total refit incl. new external power supply. This RTP's circuit now closely resembles the  Lenehan RTP as shown in Schematics. We now have four versions or variations of the RTP - they all sound quite extraordinary - that you can examine in Schematics.

Current Owner: Chris Pritchard of Redfern NSW, Australia - longtime acquaintance of both Allen and Joe, and sympathetic supporter of the cause. Notice the above RTP near his left knee. That's the Power Supply in his left hand and its top cover in the foreground. Chris uses the RTP with his 40 Watt Forced Symmetry Power Amps in balanced mode and belongs to Joe's exclusive (hah) unofficial listening panel.
